A significant portion of user generated content on the web discusses consumer products. The CPROD1 workshop presents the state-of-the-art algorithms that ranked highest in the ICDM-2012 contest that required contestants to automatically recognize mentions of consumer products in previously unseen user generated web content, and to link each mention to the corresponding set of products in a large product catalog.
